Trauma Critical Care Surgeon
Position with Desert Trauma Surgeons, Inc., a physician-owned, private-practice medical group providing Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Acute Care Surgery, and Emergency General Surgery services throughout Southern California.
Our primary trauma programs are located at two Level II Trauma Centers in South Los Angeles County: St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood and St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach. We also provide Emergency General Surgery coverage at our Valley sites in Sherman Oaks and Encino. As our organization continues to grow and expand, we are seeking surgeons interested in joining a collaborative and evolving practice.
Desert Trauma Surgeons is a shared Trauma, ICU, Acute Care Surgery, and General Surgery practice consisting of approximately 25 surgeons, a fully staffed nurse practitioner service, and medical students from the California University of Science and Medicine and St. George’s University.
St. Francis Medical Center is a 384-bed, ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center that participates in the Los Angeles County Trauma System. The hospital treats more than 80,000 emergency department visits and approximately 2,000 trauma injuries annually. It is also designated by the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency as a Primary Stroke Center and STEMI Receiving Center.
Physicians are required to work sixteen (16) 12-hour shifts per month, with opportunities to work additional shifts for supplemental compensation, if desired.
