Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician (Part-Time)

Inspira Health, the region’s leading network of healthcare providers, is seeking a part-time Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician to join the ambulatory oncology pharmacy team in Mullica Hill, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of IV compounding, inventory, dispensing and distribution of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs in the oncology pharmacy under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. This position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a competitive pay range of $21.65 - $30.31 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Perform manual tasks involved with the proper storage, distribution, packaging and labeling of drugs, associated record-keeping and patient charging systems
- Prepare, deliver and charge chemotherapy medications, including IV medications, following the proper procedures as per policy, NJ Board of Pharmacy regulations, and USP 797/800 Chapter guidelines
- Work under safe hazardous/chemotherapy protocols, including the use of closed system transfer devices (CSTDs) and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Eligible for or actively registered as a New Jersey Pharmacy Technician (registration must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required; Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) or Oncology Pharmacy Technician certification (OPTA) preferred
- 3+ years of hospital pharmacy technician experience
- 2+ years of experience performing sterile compounding
- Prior experience with chemotherapy and hazardous compounding preferred
- Knowledge of USP Chapters 797/800
