The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Northwell Health has an excellent opportunity for a regional OBGYN Chair of the Women’s Health service line. This is a unique opportunity to be a clinical leader in a growing health system that has an established center of excellence in Women’s Health. The Vassar OBGYN Chair will lead a group of obstetricians and gynecologists and work collaboratively with system leadership, physicians, midwives, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, anesthesiologists, oncologists, and neonatology to ensure the highest quality, evidence-based care.
This position will be 0.6 clinical as an OBGYN Generalist physician in the Nuvance-Northwell employed practice, and 0.4 administrative as the Vassar OBGYN Chair. This role will report to the System Women’s Health Chair and help oversee the Nuvance-Northwell employed OBGYN physicians in the Vassar region. The anticipated clinical schedule is one office day, and one 24-hour in-house call shift per week. This role will provide full-scope OBGYN care including office visits, L&D coverage, and gynecologic surgery.
The Division of OB/GYN has offices located in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill and Highland, NY. The practice admits exclusively to Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Our busy Labor and Delivery Unit sees about 2,800 babies born each year. We have a level III NICU staffed by neonatologists, as well as an excellent perinatology program. Our growing gynecology practice offers surgery at Vassar Brothers Medical Center and the Fishkill Ambulatory Surgical Center. The Women’s Health service line also includes a gynecologic oncology practice at the Dyson Cancer Center and a strong relationship with the oncology service line.
Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a new 752,000 square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides the leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, including Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, neurosciences, cancer care, and women’s health. Vassar is consistently ranked as one of the strongest cardiac programs in the United States and one of the Top 100 Heart Hospitals by Modern HealthCare Magazine.
