Description

The Department Radiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) are seeking a Pediatric Interventional Radiologist for the Division of Pediatric Radiology.

The successful candidate will join the 17 member academic group of experienced and collegial faculty who provide coverage in all areas of pediatric radiology with subspecialty coverage in the areas of neuroradiology and cardiovascular imaging.  This division offers a nurturing clinical and academic environment with a history of educational excellence, and societal leadership. A complete range of tertiary pediatric IR procedures for infants and children is performed in the Radiology Department in two adjacent IR suites (including a new bi-plane lab) or under CT fluoroscopic guidance. Collaboration with our university Adult Neuro IR team, including Stroke team participation, is integrated within the Pediatric IR service. Interventional Radiology clinic and Multidisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Team clinic presence are well established.  Pediatric IR and combined Pediatric Radiology-Pediatric IR fellowships are offered. Faculty members also train Radiology residents, Pediatric Radiology fellows, and medical students. Pediatric Radiology has an established history of educational excellence and leadership; the department received an Endowed Chair in Pediatric Radiology in 2011, which provides additional support for special projects.

In addition to the Pediatric Radiology Division, the UAMS Department of Radiology faculty offer expertise across key divisions including Breast, Interventional Neuroradiology, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, and Radiology Sciences.  We deliver comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care in conjunction with appropriate consultants and specialists for the diagnosis of a broad spectrum of diseases.  Our mission is to provide high quality patient care while training the next generation of diagnostic radiologists.

Faculty candidates must have completed a fellowship in pediatric interventional radiology. Certification of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Pediatric Radiology by the American Board of Radiology or CAQ eligible.  Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.  Current fellows are encouraged to apply.
