Clinical Care / Surgical Assistance / Inpatient Hospital Responsibilities

• Conducting patient assessments
• Ordering diagnostic tests
• Creating personalized treatment plans
• Administering injections and performing aspirations of joints and bursae
• Performing minor outpatient procedures like wound care, casting, splinting, and fracture reductions
• Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Providing education to patients & their families on conditions, performing tasks, treatment options, and preventative care.
• Acting as surgical assistant during procedures, performing tasks like tissue closure, and applying appliances.
• Overseeing patients' recovery in the post-op period.
• Conducting hospital rounds.

Requirements

• A Master's degree from an accredited PA program
• Current state license as PA 
• Basic Life Support and prefer an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
• Clinical knowledge with a strong understanding of orthopaedic anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Strong attention to detail for patient documentation.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment, and handle potentially long hours.
