Description
The Division of Adult Cardiac Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland offers a two-year ECMO and MCS fellowship for general surgery or integrated Thoracic surgery residents. This fellowship provides trainees with hands-on experience in initiating ECMO support, daily patient management, and assisting in the operating room for any ECMO-related surgical procedures. Trainees will also have the opportunity to lead and/or participate in our robust ECMO clinical and laboratory research program. In addition to ECMO-related activities, they will take part in organ recoveries and assist in the operating room for various surgical cases. This is an exceptional opportunity to train at one of the nation’s most active and academically distinguished cardiac surgery programs at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Requirements
MD or equivalent, with eligibility for licensure in Maryland.
Enrolled in an accredited general surgery residency.
Demonstrated excellence in general surgery with an interest in cardiac surgery.
