Position: Age Group Swim Coach
Location: Orange County, California
Type: Full-time or Part-time, Hourly
Pay Rate: $22–$25 per hour, based on experience and certification
About Patriot Swim Club
Patriot Swim Club is a year-round competitive swim program in Orange County, California, dedicated to developing swimmers from beginner to elite levels. Our mission is to help athletes reach their full potential both in and out of the water by promoting excellence, integrity, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We pride ourselves on creating a positive environment where athletes learn, grow, and gain lifelong skills through the sport of swimming.
Position Summary
The Age Group Swim Coach plays a key role in shaping the foundation of our program by coaching swimmers ages 7–14. This coach will work closely with the Head Coach and Club Director to develop technical skills, encourage goal setting, and foster a love for competitive swimming. The ideal candidate is passionate, with experience coaching Age groups, reliable, and motivated to inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and conduct daily swim practices for age group athletes.
- Teach and reinforce stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies.
- Create a positive and encouraging team culture focused on improvement and effort.
- Monitor and track swimmer progress, communicating feedback to athletes and parents.
- Attend assigned swim meets and provide on-deck coaching and support.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure consistency in training philosophy and long-term athlete development.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and coordination of Patriot Swim Club–hosted meets and events.
- Maintain accurate attendance and meet entry records.
- Ensure compliance with all USA Swimming and Safe Sport guidelines.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience with age group or developmental swimmers preferred.
- Current USA Swimming Coach Certification (or ability to obtain).
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of stroke development, training progression, and competition rules.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; able to connect with both swimmers and parents.
- Availability for afternoons, evenings, and weekend hours.
- Positive attitude and ability to model professionalism, teamwork, and respect.
